Tony Cowards is an accomplished and prolific comedy writer.

This year, he has written for BBC Radio 2's 'Ian D Montfort Is: Unbelievable' and Radio 4's The Now Show.  Other broadcast credits include material for the Comedy Unit at BBC Radio Scotland, Radio 4's "The News Quiz, "Newsjack" for BBC7 and he is also the principal gag writer for Bristol based Jack FM, for which he has recently received a Sony Award Nomination.

In 2012 he was responsible for writing, and performed in, a popular radio series for TalkSPORT "TalkSPORT's Guide tothe Olympics".  In 2008 he co-scripted a series of popular Christmas podcasts featuring Tony Blackburn, Christopher Biggins and Lesley Joseph.

In print, as well as regularly contributing to "Viz" and featuring in "The Times" newspaper,  Tony has written several columns for satirical news website "The Daily Mash" and TV comedian, Mark Watson's football site, "Back of the Net".  He also supplies jokes for several greetings card manufacturers and works on a freelance basis consulting on scripts and speeches for a wide range of clients. 

Often using social networking as a testing ground, his daily stream of jokes on Twitter (@TonyCowards) has attracted a veritable army of followers (over 14,000 at last count).
